The first step outside of home is a big one. Little Nestlings is designed to make that step feel safe, exciting, and full of joy.

In our intimate small-group setting, 2-year-olds are gently introduced to the rhythms of a school day — circle time, creative play, social interaction, and the beginning of emotional vocabulary. Every session is thoughtfully paced for little ones who are experiencing school for the very first time.

Colorful bird-themed counting toy with ten numbered circular slots on a white card, placed on a wooden shelf among children's games and puzzles.

The Big Nest is where curious little minds come alive. Built as a bridge to pre-K, this program gives children the social, emotional, and cognitive foundation they need to walk into kindergarten confident, kind, and ready.

Through play-based learning, structured social experiences, and a warm, consistent environment, children in Big Nest develop the skills that matter most — how to express themselves, collaborate with peers, manage big emotions, and approach new challenges with curiosity rather than fear.

Why Social Emotional Learning?

A growing body of research points to a child's social and emotional development in the early years as one of the strongest foundations for long-term success, in school, in relationships, and in life.

Social Emotional Early Education focuses on five core areas:

Self-Awareness

Helping children understand and name their feelings.

Self-Regulation

Building the tools to manage big emotions.

Social Skills

Learning to share, take turns, and build friendships.

Empathy

Developing an understanding of others’ feelings and perspectives.

Confidence

Creating a safe environment where children feel seen and valued.

At The Little Nest, these aren’t add-ons to the curriculum. They are the curriculum, woven into every story, every activity, and every interaction throughout the day.
